4 reasons to visit this stunning resort in Dubai.
Tucked away behind a canopy of trees on the road to Academic City, is one of Dubai’s most lush resorts, the Per Aquum Desert Palm. Last weekend we had the opportunity to visit this gorgeous resort.
150 acres of green fields, 4 polo fields, 38 rooms and suites, 90 residential villas, several scenic event venues and over 400 horses in their comfortable stables make up this impressive property.
The Desert Palm offers guests the opportunity to unwind and spend time in lush settings. We had to keep reminding ourselves that we were still in the UAE. The resort has the capability to transport one to a de-stressing environment almost instantly upon arrival. We even took advantage of the extensive grounds to take some family pics…
Nothing seemed to excite my 3 daughters more than the chance to get on a pony for a ride.
Nothing seemed to excite my 3 daughters more than the chance to get on a pony for a ride. We were anticipating regular sized ponies as we had seen in the past. So we were pleasantly surprised, when we were given 3 almost fully grown horses, which left my daughters squealing in delight. Alessandra who is three years old sat for the very first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
DINNER AT RARE
The signature restaurant RARE serves grilled fish and meats in a fabulous setting overlooking one of the four polo fields. I sampled the beef steak while my partner tried the grilled salmon. For appetizers we were served grilled prawns with a spicy, tangy coriander chutney. I would recommend the chargrilled chicken on skewers for its ‘melt-in-your-mouth’ bites.
THE LIME SPA
A beautiful scented entrance at the Lime Spa is very welcoming as are the lovely lounge beds where you can relax before and after your treatment. Once I chose my spa treatment, I was led into a room with dark lighting and soft music. The earthy tones of the spa create a deep sense of relaxation and peace.
I selected the Lime signature massage treatment of 60 minute duration and was so very pleased with the result. It is a popular spa with day visitors booking in for treatments on a regular basis so make sure to book ahead.
